Western Cass Fire Protection District

The qualifications to be a Director of a Fire Protection District:

• Must be a US citizen
• Reside in Missouri & District 1 year before election or appointment
• Must no be federally employed if in a Missouri “office of profit”
• Cannot be convited of or plead guilty to a federal felony or misdemeanor, a Missouri felony, or an offense in another state that is considered a felony in Missouri
• Must have paid his or her taxes (candidates must file a copy of an affidavit of tax payments)
• Must have paid any fees assessed by the Missouri Ethics Commission
• May not be employed by an ambulance or fire protection district
• Must be at least 24 years old
• Must pay a $100 filing fee to the District
• Must take and file an oath or affirmation of office with the County Circuit Court Clerk's Office
• Must file a surety bond with the County Circuit Court Clerk's Office
