2021 Missouri State Auditor's Office Audit
On July 7, 2021, the Missouri State Auditor's Office released an audit of the Westen Cass Fire Protection District at the the request of then Director and Treasurer Kerri Van Meveren. Many of the criticisms of the audit were directly related to the activities of the treasurer at that time.

Findings og the audit of the Western Cass Fire Protection District focused on expenditures, budgets and financial reports, stipends and employment classifications, board training and the Missouri Sunshine Law, electronic communication, and capital assets.
AUDIT COST
The cost of the audit of the Western Cass Fire Protection District was $29,557.35 and by law the District was required to pay for the audit, which it did on October 1, 2021.
